Windshield repair and auto glass replacement
Windshield repair is so important that many insurance companies cover Windshield replacement with no deductible. Chips and cracks in a windshield or vehicle windows are some of the most common repairs that send customers into repair shops. In many instances, windshield damage is just one of those accidental happenings that you have to deal with. Without proper repair, small scratches and cracks can easily develop into larger repairs. There are also the obvious safety concerns that arise when a driver’s vision is impaired by a crack in the windshield. So, if you notice a crack or chip in the glass of your vehicle, we recommend a windshield repair done sooner rather than later to avoid future problems.
How to avoid windshield repairs
Although there are no certain ways to prevent windshield cracks and damage, you can help protect your auto windshield by taking a few precautions:
- If you are driving in an area with excessive gravel try to keep a safe distance between your car and the car in front of you.
- If you get stuck behind a construction vehicle, keep your distance. Usually, those trucks carry dirt, rocks, and debris that may damage your windshield
- A windshield can be damaged by the sun. The glass has a black ceramic frit that protects the seal that holds the glass in place. The frit and the seal are both black so they can absorb heat and transfer it to the glass on a hot day. Try to park out of direct sunlight and in a garage if you can
